highly skilled Sr. Director, Strategic Market Development & Communications to help us promote our global brand and
industry-leading service offerings. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a visionary brand steward — shaping the
look, tone and feel of all the UBC brand hallmarks. We are seeking a candidate with extensive marketing experience and a
flair for branding, strategy, and campaign management. The right candidate will have the ability to lead a close-knit
marketing team, interacting with senior leadership and business development on a regular basis. If you have an

clients bring novel medications to the market, and, another unique part of our business which directly addresses the
financial and clinical barriers that patients may face when they are prescribed a specialty product and are looking for

forward both inside and outside of UBC.
About You
As the Sr. Marketing Director, you must be a pro at communication — whether it is pitching new functionality on the UBC
website, writing marketing plans, or coordinating a meeting about an upcoming advertising campaign. The ability to
foster consensus from a large team is important and obtaining stakeholder buy-in on new, complex or challenging ideas is
essential. Soft skills such as good attention to detail, versatility and leadership abilities also rank high on the list of
desired qualities for this position.
You are an experienced professional with a passion for digital, print, and experience-based marketing, able to employ
unique techniques with a skill for marketing strategy and able to drive creativity and enthusiasm in others.
The best candidates will be able to work cooperatively and effectively with different personality types as well as other
departments, vendors and leadership. You can transition seamlessly among projects of varying scale, audience, format
and distribution channel. Additionally, you know your own weaknesses and can work around these shortcomings through
delegation, collaboration and excellent resource utilization.

Essential Duties
The Sr. Director, Strategic Market Development & Communications is responsible for developing, guiding, overseeing and
measuring the following:
Orchestrate the development of an emerging brand and corporate identity
Develop and implement marketing plans, including promotional content calendars, new product introductions and other
marketing projects
Develop and manage marketing budgets
Offer expert direction to develop innovative advertising, public relations, social media and events
Work with the business development (sales) team on lead generation outreach campaigns
Manage agency providers, consultants, freelancers and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management
Supervise a marketing team, including hiring, training, workloads, schedules and deadlines
Oversee the operation of corporate website, email marketing programs and provide analytics review
Conduct customer, brand and product research initiatives
Ability to incorporate marketing services (Healthcare commercial service lines non products/specific drug)
Ability to use and incorporate CRO (Clinical Research Organization) experience/knowledge into the marketplace
Ability to incorporate healthcare or pharmaceutical work experience/knowledge into the marketplace
Ability to work in the patient/client services arena and marketplace
Ability to assess and execute on corporate branding and messaging strategy
Ability to assess market and competitor dynamics
Senior leadership: the position serves as a senior leader responsible for setting and maintaining corporate
Ability to take direction and to work independently and Corporate Marketing, Branding and Messaging Strategy
Ability to provide expert guidance and support to internal and external clients.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
12 to 15 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience
Marketing services (Healthcare commercial service lines non products/specific drug)
Extensive CRO (Clinical Research Organization) experience
Previous or current healthcare or pharmaceutical work experience or background
Extensive patient services experience
Multi-channel campaign management (digital, print, social, events)
Knowledge of marketing automation applications and strategy
Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite
Microsoft Office Suite - PowerPoint master highly desired
Transform scientific concepts into digestible marketing messages
Can critique marketing tactics and provide constructive feedback
Passion and direction to constantly progress the company forward
Ability to engage internal and external clients
Time management and project prioritization skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to take direction and to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising
quality or attention to detail
Ability to work under extreme pressure and strict timelines, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to travel occasionally
