GA Foods is seeking a full-time Sous Chef with prior food high volume, institutional food service experience to join our
One Team.This position will oversee the preparation and packing of meals for distribution, following standardized recipes
and portioning controls.TheSous Chef will be responsible for the following:Produce hot meals following recipes; cook and
prepare for multiple daily menus; coordinate timing of food production and delivery to transportation; Assist w/requisition
of daily food items; Assist in inventory control and FIFO; Provide backup and support to Kitchen Supervisor; Supervise hot
food kitchen staff as needed; Set up production schedules and plans.
Sous Chef Essential Duties
Prepare meals in a specific time period, ensuring quality and accuracy of portions
Prepping meals daily for next day’s production
Meet all menu standards and specification maintaining all compliance
Support additional projects, staff, etc., as needed
Prepare, cook and pack Kosher foods under Rabbinical supervision
Hot and Cold food packing
Able to prepare meals according to custom specifications, including higher end menus
Must support full production for both Kosher and Custom menus from menu review, requisitions, full process of producing,
meeting all specifications and standards
Work all areas of kitchen as needed and tasks as directed by the Department Manager
Other duties assigned by management.
Sous Chef Qualifications
High school or GED graduate
Institutional Cooking (Hot Meal and Cold Pantry) Experience
Pallet Jack experience
Computer Experience Preferred
Familiar with HACCP and Food Safety/Quality standards
Some Supervisory Skills
