Direct operations of sanitation and monitor results for sanitation.
Establish, in conjunction with production management; quality control; technical services; and USDA, a service level of
acceptable sanitation, while maintaining company productivity standards and department for cost standards.
Tracks chemical expenditures to provide necessary feedback to Supervisors.
Responsible for British Retail Consortium (BRC) compliance.
Ensure pre-operations inspection and compliance meets USDA established standards.
Cultivate and maintain a positive working relationship with USDA.
Manage labor costs for 46 hourly sanitation employees, including temporary labor.
Optimize and break down CIP systems and equipment.
Monitor assembly and disassembly of machinery, including belts and shackles, during sanitation process to ensure
buildup in clean and machinery ready for operation.
Monitor capital project expenditures and progress.
Monitor, prevent, and resolve failures related to pre-op failures.
Maintain and monitor housekeeping and
Maintain pest control and hazardous material storage, in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
Develop and lead two Sanitation Supervisors to ensure adequate training in safety and effectiveness.
BS or BA in food science, chemistry, biology, bacteriology, business or related field preferred.
HACCP certification (required to comply with the food safety and inspection service, USDA rules and regulation 417.7 of
the HACCP systems)
Proficient computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ensure compliance of pre-operational inspections and release of packaging floor on time.
Five years of management experience in a food related processing operation.
Poultry background desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent decision-making and trouble-resolution skills.
Ability to work independently and lead a large group of employees.
