Expert Technical Solutions has an immediate opening for a Technical BA with one of our leading clients in Miami, FL. This is
a long-term, renewable contract position. 1 year minimum, however our contract with the client is for 5 years so this
position will most likely extend to 5 years or longer.
Job Summary
This role serves as a liaison between the internal customers and the system and development teams. This individual will be
responsible for understanding the systems, data, and applications to help support the technical requirements for these
solutions. The role will identify technical requirements as they relate to systems, architecture, data and business logic. The
Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for having a deep level of understanding of the data and business processes
within the organization, and the methods in which this data communicates across the organization.
Essential Functions
Communicates and understands both business and technical requirements and needs with the respective teams. Ability to
communicate to both business users (internal customers) and technical resources, such as developers, architects and
Creates and maintains positive relationships with customers in both business and technical groups
Create and maintain documentation for technical requirements, including data interface mappings, architecture diagrams,
and system & data requirements.
Read through application web service APIs and document requirements related to any new or enhanced development
Understand testing processes for shoreside and shipboard applications. Create and document technical test cases to help
support the development teams when needed.
Provide technical (QA) and user acceptance (UAT) testing support and expertise related to data migration, data integration,
and reporting projects
Analyze business and technical requirements and identify gaps or potential enterprise issues
Create and maintain system documentation related to data integration and business intelligence, including data mappings,
Provide problem-solving support, advice and guidance to internal customers which is professional, responsive, and assume
responsibility for conclusion
Complete daily, weekly and monthly processes and tasks to the required standard
Attend and engages in daily standup meetings along with other agile team ceremonies, as required
Provide guidance and analysis on potential system impact to IT managers. This includes changes to current processes,
applications, file layouts, and web services.
Education: Bachelors in associated field required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a business and/or technical business analyst role
Minimum 3 years of experience participating in technology implementation projects
Experience as a data analyst, developer and/or business analyst working with data interface projects
Experience with web service file formats, including XML and JSON
Preferred experience in web languages, such as .NET, PHP, Java, or Python
Preferred experience with data integration tools, such as Informatica, SSIS, Mulesoft or Pentaho
Preferred experience with Microsoft SQL Server, multi-dimensional analytics (MDA) and/or online analytical processing
Preferred experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud-based architectures
Experience with reporting applications solutions (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, SSRS, Qlik, etc.)
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; strong critical self-review skills
Demonstrated ability to deliver communication which is clear, concise, and relevant to audience through appropriate
methods and tools
High degree of professionalism
Proactive approach to role and problem solving; solution rather than problem focused
Comfortable pushing back with customers and stakeholders to protect the integrity of the data management process
Self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to deal with high levels of complexity, change and evolving processes, often at
short notice
Demonstrated mid-level or above proficiency with reviewing technical documents, such as XML file layouts, .csv source
files, and/or web service documentation
Understanding of SDLC and project management methodology
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information
with attention to detail and accuracy

Incident management of the systems consistent with the vendor’s SLAs
