Successful completion, in a humanities discipline, of the doctoral comprehensive examination and all other Graduate
Studies and departmental requirements for candidacy to the doctoral degree.
Student should be enrolled in one dissertation/thesis credit hour and be eligible for a graduate research assistantship
At least two years of experience working in interdisciplinary humanities environments, such as acting as a teaching
assistant or research assistant, working as an administrator in a humanities department or center, or working as an
administrator or program coordinator in an arts or humanities library or museum.
Superior written communication skills, as evidenced by application materials.

The IDRH Graduate Research Assistant supports the development of digital humanities programming at the Institute for
Digital Research in the Humanities (IDRH). A partnership between KU Libraries, the Hall Center for the Humanities, and the
College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, IDRH provides resources and training in the practices and tools of the digital humanities,
facilitating interdisciplinary academic collaborations, innovative research, and external funding opportunities.
IDRH seeks a graduate research assistant enrolled in one credit hour at the ABD level who seeks to develop experience and
skills in digital humanities research and program development. The GRA will be based in Watson Library and will report to
one of the co-directors of IDRH (Libraries faculty).
This position is a limited term appointment for one (1) academic year with a start date of August 26th, 2019 and an end
date of May 7th, 2020. The successful candidate must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S. before
