Position: Neighborhood Navigator Salary: $12.85 Hourly Type: Part Time Location: Sun Prairie, WI
The Sun Prairie Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the Sun Prairie Youth & Families Commission is
seeking a Neighborhood Navigator for the Sun Prairie Neighborhood Navigator Program in the Vandenburg Heights

This position assists in supporting residents of the Vandenburg Heights Neighborhood by connecting them to community
resources and providing community engagement events. The Neighborhood Navigator will utilize grassroots efforts to
provide information about and connect residents to community resources, develop a greater sense of community, build
relationships, and connect neighbors to one another.

This is a year-round position, with fluctuating hours based on need. Average hours per week is 10-15 hours.

Reports to: Parks and Recreation Director & Neighborhood Navigator Advisory Team

Essential Job Functions
Major Duties/Essential Functions

Connects with residents of the identified neighborhood and assist in building trust and connections with opportunities that
exist in the broader community.
Facilitates the connection of residents to available community programs, services and supports.
Assists in the planning of neighborhood-building events and recruits residents to get involved in the planning process.
Represents neighborhood and neighborhood interests at community meetings, fairs, SCOs, etc.
Assists in the tracking, monitoring and reporting of program metrics and outcomes.
Develop relationships and partnerships with community organizations.
Minor Duties/Responsibilities
Attend mandatory trainings and meetings.
Provide feedback and evaluation on the Neighborhood Navigators Program.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements of Work

Experience in community engagement preferred, but not required
Experience in event planning preferred, but not required.
Navigators will already know and have the trust of many members of their community.
Knowledge and understanding of the needs specific to the Vandenburg Heights Neighborhood.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability and willingness to work as part of a professional team.
Ability and willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff, community members,
supervisor(s) and community partners, and to deal with them in a courteous and tactful manner
Strong oral communication skills
Ability and willingness to keep accurate records and complete any necessary paperwork
