Job Overview
Responsible for the administration and efficient daily operations of one or more full-service branches, including branch
performance, member service operations, employee management and development, risk management, business
development support, process management, facility management support and tenant relationship management, in
accordance with all established goals and metrics of the Credit Union. May also be responsible for vendor management for
all branches and support to the Vice President Branch Operations. Emulates and promotes the Credit Union’s core values at
all times, while creating a productive, rewarding, team and service-oriented work environment.
Job Duties
Ensure effective processes are utilized to create and sustain seamless delivery of products and services to members.
Ensure that member and Credit Union information is treated with the utmost confidentiality and security to support the
Credit Union’s core purpose of being "our members’ trusted partner".
Develop senior level branch staff to effectively develop, lead and empower employees to achieve Credit Union goals and
objectives.
Create a productive, rewarding, team-oriented work environment that provides for the development of employees, meets
all established goals and metrics and operates within the Credit Union’s core values.
Uphold the Credit Union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), which includes compliance with the Customer
Identification Program and anti-money laundering policies and procedures.
Report unusual or suspicious activity in writing to the Legal and Compliance Department.
Collaborate actively with peers and management to develop sound business practices to achieve branch objectives and
goals in alignment with the Credit Union’s core purpose.
Manage branch-related risks, decisions and policies in a manner that provides for maximum service value to members and
minimal risk to the Credit Union.
Provide training and ensures adherence to internal controls, procedures and security guidelines to minimize risk to the
Credit Union and its employees.
Develop strong relationship with all SLFCU stakeholders, exhibiting the Credit Union’s core values to enhance membership
growth and loyalty.
Plan and contribute to the budget process, recommend staff and department additions, identify cost-saving solutions and
focus on maintaining branch expenses within the approved budget limits.
Hire, develop and lead the branch staff to effectively utilize service and sales skills in order to enhance member service
and loyalty, ensure service quality and operational effectiveness, and to achieve branch goals. Ensure employees have the
proper tools and resources to successfully perform the requirements of their job.
Maintain up to date knowledge of policies, procedures, systems and processes to support the achievement of departmental
and organizational goals.
Maintain the branch to be member and employee friendly, safe, secure and functional.
Complete annual BSA and OFAC training.
May ensure coordination, communication, security and service between tenants or property management, vendors, and
the Credit Union through effective relationship management.
May manage vendor relationships and the risk associated with implementing new technology and services as well as
overseeing existing relationships to ensure seamless delivery at all branch locations.
Perform consumer lending and business service support functions as needed.
Manage the overall member service and sales process within the branch by:
Working with the Vice President of Operations/Regional Branch Manager to plan, direct and implement service and sales
initiative and activities to reach established goals
Actively listening to and assessing the needs of the member, explaining the features and benefits of targeted products and
services, and offering targeted solutions to meet the member’s needs
Providing service and sales coaching and feedback to employees
Experience and Knowledge
Minimum four years experience in a financial institution, preferably SLFCU.
Minimum four years supervisory experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of financial institution operational procedures and compliance.
Thorough knowledge of the products and services offered by the Credit Union.
Highly proficient in the use of personal computer applications (i.e. Windows and MS Office) and in house software;
demonstrates ability to learn new software.
Prior experience with loan interviewing.
Education
Associate’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
Loan training desired.
Other Skills:
Exhibits high standards in accuracy, adaptability, judgment and initiative.
Demonstrates excellent organizational and time management skills; able to handle/prioritize multiple tasks, meet
deadlines and assign workload to staff accordingly.
Able to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
Able to assist branch staff as needed.
Flexible regarding schedule. Able to open and/or close branch and work Saturdays as needed.
Possesses exemplary attendance and punctuality record.
