Position: Adjunct Salary: $20.00 per hour Type: Full Time Location: Cincinnati, OH
Adjunct - Reference/Instruction Librarian
The Johnnie Mae Berry Library at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking applicants for a part-
time reference/instruction librarian.
Responsible for face-to-face and virtual research assistance to the College Community
Provide assistance and troubleshooting for basic computer and software issues
Teach engaging library instruction sessions for assigned courses
Serve as back-up assistance for the circulation desk
Complete other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Library Science (will consider qualified candidate within 9 hours of MLS degree completion and
able to obtain degree within one year of hire date)
Working knowledge of academic online resources, computing technologies, and Microsoft Office products
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to act effectively as a member of a team
Ability to develop and complete projects without continued direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications
Previous library instruction or teaching experience in an academic environment
2 years of working experience in a library
Experience working with students from diverse academic backgrounds and life experiences
Work hours:
Typical work week is 20 hours per week, Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. while classes are in
session and 1-2 Saturdays a semester (10 a.m. -2 p.m.)
Flexibility is highly desired as the preferred candidate may be asked to work earlier or later hours depending on
staffing and instruction needs.
Reports To: Director, Johnnie Mae Berry Library
Compensation: $20/hour
Contractual Affiliation: N/A
Exempt Classification: Non-Exempt
Status: Part-time
