Position: Lumber Trainee Salary: $14.25 per hour Type: Full Time Location: Dudley, NC
Lumber Trainee - Dudley, NC - Lumber Mill
Georgia-Pacific has openings for the Lumber Trainee position in Dudley, NC. As a Lumber Trainee, you will learn to
operate machinery within the lumber facility to expected production levels, maintain a safe and clean working
environment, and work collaboratively to complete manufacturing goals. If you are motivated by working with your
hands, learning new and exciting tasks, and working with teammates toward a common goal, this is may be the job for
you.
Hourly Rate of Pay: $14.25+ (based on experience)
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Helping to achieve the lumber productivity standards set for each day
Keeping the facility clean by removing dust and debris from work areas
Learning to safely operate lumber mill machinery
Assisting crew members and working in a team environment
Making minor repairs to ensure machines function properly
Completing and maintaining all daily inspections and downtime reports
Removing bark and sawdust as well as blowing debris from machines
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
Six (6) months or more of experience working with hand tools or operating production equipment or machinery
Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends and overtime as needed
Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield,
chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific
jobs)
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to
twelve (12) hours a day
Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Two (2) years’ experience or more in a manufacturing, military, industrial, farming, agriculture, landscaping, carpentry,
mechanical, or construction environment
Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment
Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
